Some Frequently Asked Questions About Our Practice

1. What are your hours and how do I make an appointment?

   Tifton Ophthalmology is open from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments and surgery are scheduled at your convenience. We take pride in our policy of seeing patients in a timely fashion. Should you need an appointment on short notice, we will work you in. To schedule an appointment, simply call 912.386.2181.

2. What do I do in the event of an emergency?

   In the event of a severe emergency, go directly to the nearest hospital. For minor emergencies, you may contact our office at 912.386.2181 and you will be given personalized instructions. After hours and on weekends, our answering service will be forwarded to either Dr. Moorman or Dr. Wagenhorst. At least one of our doctors attempts to be available at all times. However, for those infrequent times when our doctors are not available, another board-certified ophthalmologist will attempt to take care of your problem

3. What about your fees and insurance policies?

Please bring your insurance information and any referral authorization or co-payment fee with you on your visit. Also, if you have a change in you insurance coverage, please notify our staff.
   We participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
   Drs. Moorman and Wagenhorst also participate in certain managed care plans, including South Georgia Health Partners and Coastal Plains Health Alliance. If our doctors are not listed as providers on your plan, inform our office and we will check into the possibility of joining your system.
